We encourage young people to enjoy playing football
Buntingford Cougars encourages young people to enjoy playing football. By being part of a team, children have fun and learn the value of working together – whatever their ability. In many of our 7 a-side teams, every child gets the opportunity to score a goal during a season. And it’s exactly that sense of achievement and excitement we want everyone on our teams to have. We create a safe and positive environment where young people can improve their sporting skills and their confidence. To find out more, have a look at the different age groups.
Children playing for U7’s and U8’s start with 5 on the pitch. The pitches, goals and footballs are smaller to suit them. U9’s and U10’s play with 7 on the pitch – sometimes called mini-soccer. U11’s and U12’s teams play with 9 on the pitch, U13 upwards, children play with 11 on the pitch and the pitches, goals and footballs are appropriate to their age.
